She didn't get it from me...

This year for the first time, Piper decided she wanted to try soccer. We've always said each child may choose one extracurricular activity, and thus far hers has been gymnastics while Porter has tried sports - 3 seasons of flag football and 1 of T-ball. I was thrilled that Piper not only wanted to try a sport, but showed true excitement about it. When assigned her team, she knew none of the other girls who have all played together for 2 other seasons and all go to a different school from Piper. This did not seem to phase her. From the first practice, she gave it her all and looked no different out there from all the other seasoned players. Her first game was yesterday. She was amazing. I just stood in awe wondering how she came out of my womb. Me - the most unathletic girl, possibly on the planet. She scored a goal, passed the ball to teammates, ran up and down the field without stopping, fell down and got right back up, and was super aggressive! She gets this all from her Daddy (and obviously and ultimately the Lord) who is good at every sport he tries. OK, she may get a tad of the aggressiveness from me:) Nevertheless, I'm proud to finally be a soccer mom to a my little soccer girl.

She's a "Lady Shark" that plays for Japan, #2...
